HOW MUCH DOES IT COST TO RENT A CAR IN MAZATLAN?

The price depends on several variables such as the category of car, the duration of the rental and how far in advance you book.

With Rentmaz, car rental in Mazatlan starts from MXN$900 a day for a compact car in the low season. This price includes unlimited mileage, taxes and collision damage waiver.

HOW CAN I GET THE BEST PRICE WHEN RENTING A CAR IN RENTMAZ?

To rent a car in Mazatlan at the best price, we recommend that you book as far in advance as possible. Remember that the cheapest cars tend to sell out the closer you get to the rental date.

In addition, when you rent a car with Rentmaz, you can save even more by choosing one of our promotional rates (Light or Smart), which will give you up to an additional 20% discount.

DO YOU HAVE SERVICE AT THE MAZATLAN AIRPORT?

Yes, we offer a free shuttle service to and from Mazatlan Airport for all rentals. Our staff will meet you at the airport and take you to our office where the car will be delivered to you.

At the end of the rental, the car must be returned to our office and from there we will take you back to the airport to catch your flight.

WHAT IS NOT INCLUDED IN MY RATE?

Basically, your rate includes everything you need to drive the car, so we do not make the delivery of the car dependent on the purchase of any additional product or protection. However, we do have a number of additional services and coverages that are completely optional and designed to make your trip more comfortable.

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN “CLASSIC”, “SMART” AND “LIGHT” RATES?

Each of these plans offers you the same benefits (unlimited miles, taxes and our standard protection).

The difference between them lies only in the time required in advance, the different levels of flexibility each one offers you to make changes or get a refund and the percentage of discount you get.

WHAT ARE THE REQUIREMENTS TO RENT A CAR?

HOW MUCH WILL YOU HOLD ON MY CREDIT CARD AS A SECURITY DEPOSIT?

The amount to be deducted depends on the vehicle rented and ranges from MXN$8000 to MXN$20,000. Please see our Excess Policy for more details.

CAN I RENT A CAR WITHOUT A CREDIT CARD?

In most cases, a credit card is required. In case of customers residing in the United States or Canada, they may use a debit card instead of a credit card as long as their driver's license and other documents are issued by the United States or Canada. In case of customers residing in other countries, including Mexico, car rental with debit card is only possible with prior authorization from Rentmaz. CAN I RESERVE A SPECIFIC CAR MODEL?

No car rental company can guarantee a specific car model. However, if you let us know your preferred model at the time of reservation, we will do our best to provide you with the model you desire.

WHAT HAPPENS IF A CAR OF THE REQUESTED CATEGORY IS NOT AVAILABLE AT THE TIME OF PICK-UP?

Since Rentmaz does not oversell, we fill 99% of all reservations with a vehicle of the category requested by the customer. In the unlikely event that a vehicle of the requested category is not available, we will offer a vehicle of a higher category for the same price. If a higher category vehicle is also unavailable, a lower category vehicle will be offered and the difference in price will be refunded. This policy is the complete opposite of our competitors, where you would have to pay for an upgrade, but would not receive a refund if you received a lower category car.

HOW DO I CANCEL A RESERVATION?

To cancel a reservation, please call our customer service number at (669) 157-2554. Please note that some of our lower rates are NON-REFUNDABLE. If you have paid in advance and your rate is refundable, you will receive a full refund if you cancel with at least the required notice. If your rate is refundable but you cancel with less than 48 hours notice, a penalty equal to two hours rent will be charged and the balance will be refunded.

CAN I PICK UP THE VEHICLE AT ONE OFFICE AND DROP IT OFF AT ANOTHER?

Yes, in which case drop-off charge will apply to cover the cost of returning the unit to the pick-up location.

IS IT POSSIBLE TO RENT A CAR BY THE HOUR?

You must pay the minimum rental fee for one day regardless of whether the car is returned within 24 hours.

CAN I EXTEND MY RENTAL AFTER I HAVE PICKED UP THE CAR?

Please notify us as soon as possible if you wish to extend your rental. Our representatives will let you know if the car is available for an extension. If we are able to extend your rental, your credit card will be charged for the additional rental. If we are unable to extend your rental and the car is not returned in accordance with the terms of the contract, penalties will apply and the cost of the additional rental will be charged at the then current rate.

IS THERE A TOLERANCE TIME WHEN RETURNING THE VEHICLE?

In order to accommodate other customers who have reserved a vehicle, we ask that you return the vehicle no later than the time specified in your contract. The maximum tolerance period is 30 minutes, after which MXN$300 for sedans or MXN$500 for SUVs and MiniVans will be charged for each hour of delay from the original pick up time up to a maximum of 3 hours. After this time, a full day's rental will be charged.

Please note that in addition to the charges indicated in the previous paragraph, a penalty may be applied in the event that the customer returns the vehicle at a later time than that indicated in the contract without prior authorization from the company.

CAN I RETURN THE VEHICLE BEFORE THE DATE STATED IN THE CONTRACT?

Since Rentmaz does not accept more reservations than the number of cars we have available, when you rent a car from us, that unit is removed from our inventory and is not offered to any other customer for the rental period. If a customer returns a vehicle to us prior to the specified date, it is generally not possible for us to rent that vehicle to another customer at such short notice.

Therefore, even if you return the vehicle prior to the scheduled rental date, we will not be able to refund you for the unused days. However, if you have booked a SMART or CLASSIC rate, we will offer you a one-year credit for the equivalent of the unused days.

WHAT TO DO IN CASE OF MECHANICAL PROBLEMS WITH THE CAR?

Call our customer service number to report the breakdown and, depending on the situation, we will send you a road assistance service or, if necessary, a replacement vehicle.

Important: According to the terms of the rental agreement, the customer is not authorized to make any repairs to the vehicle. Unauthorized repairs will not be reimbursed by the Company.

WHAT SHOULD I DO IN CASE OF AN ACCIDENT?

Call our customer service number to report the accident and, if necessary, to the appropriate authorities.

Important: In order for the insurance and the damage coverage of the car contracted by the customer with Rentmaz Car Rental to be effective, it is necessary to have a "Report of Loss" issued by the adjuster of the insurance company. If this document is not available, the damage will not be covered by the insurance and will be the sole responsibility of the customer.

DO YOU OFFER ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE?

Yes, we have the assistance service. This is an optional service and can be purchased for a small fee at the time of pick up.

WHAT TO DO IF I FORGOT ITEMS IN THE CAR?

Please contact the office where you rented the car, Rentmaz will do our best to recover your belongings. In case a courier service is necessary, it will be paid by the customer.

CAN I TRANSPORT MY PET IN THE CAR?

Of course, we want you to feel like you are driving your own car, so your pet is welcome. Keep in mind that if your pet causes stains, dirt, or odors, we will charge for a deep cleaning, laundering, and/or deodorizing of the car.
